Celebrate Eid Milan on Friday as Part of Ramadan

The Muslim Students Association and the Pakistani Student Association invite students to attend Eid Milan, the celebration of the Eid festival, at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 28, in the Graduate Education Building room 163. On the day of Eid, Muslims vow to keep alive the spirit of morality and virtue that Ramadan has instilled in them on a day of celebration and happiness.

This event is not ticketed and open to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville students.

Eid al-Fitr is the earlier of the two official holidays celebrated within Islam (the other being Eid al-Adha). This religious holiday is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. The celebration of Eid-al-Fitr introduces the religious practices of Muslims, as well as the culture of Pakistanis, to students from all around the world.

The two student associations aim to celebrate our Muslim and Pakistani customs to bring integrity to our communities on campus, as well as introduce our traditions to other students who are interested in such events.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee. This event is held in a venue that meets ADA standards. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend this event. If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event, please contact Roohan Tanveer, rtanveer@uark.edu, 918-964-5050.
