U of A Chapter of National Italian Honor Society Initiates 12 New Members
The University of Arkansas chapter of Gamma Kappa Alpha, the national Italian academic honor society, recently held its annual initiation ceremony.
The chapter congratulates 12 new student members: Jackson Bennett, Lila Bowler, Ava Buchanan, Matteo Campagnola, Elyse Cano, Dayse Castro, Brian Flanagan, Lillie Franklin, Avalon Manica, Stephen Meehan, Honey Okuneye, Massimo Palmer. The Gamma Kappa Alpha faculty adviser is Ryan Calabretta-Sajder.
The Gamma Kappa Alpha National Italian Honor Society is a society formed to acknowledge superior scholastic performance in the field of Italian language, literature, and culture, and is open to membership at institutions of higher learning in the United States and Canada. The society encourages college students to acquire a greater interest in, and a deeper understanding of, Italian culture, art, and history. The organization recognizes outstanding undergraduate scholarship in the field of Italian by awarding annually the Gamma Kappa Alpha Award for Scholarship.
