Recently, the University of Arkansas community came together to say thank you and celebrate the generosity of U of A donors during the inaugural Grateful Hogs Day.

Faculty, staff and students participated in the day-long celebration of gratitude on March 30, which included campus pop-up events, writing thank-you notes to donors, creating video messages and sharing expressions of gratitude on social media.

Donor appreciation emails reached more than 7,704 supporters, and students at the Engagement Center made 2,516 phone calls to donors to personally thank them for their generosity.

“Thanks to the participation and momentum from the campus community, the new Grateful Hogs Day initiative inspired a remarkable outpouring of gratitude to U of A donors, alumni, friends, faculty and staff,” said Amy Linimon, assistant vice chancellor for engagement. “We look forward to building on this foundation and continuing to share the incredible impact of philanthropic support.”

Grateful Hogs Day brings visibility to the impact of philanthropy at work on campus and educates the wider U of A community about the importance of private gift support. The day-long celebration concluded with a spring Chancellor’s Society reception in the Founders Club at the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
