Students With Refugee's Refugee Awareness Day April 14
Students With Refugees invites students to attend Refugee Awareness Day from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, in the Arkansas Union International Connections Lounge.
Refugee Awareness Day is a simulated resettlement experience to shed light on a refugee's experience within their first week in Northwest Arkansas. Participants will go through simulations of the airport, the home, navigating public transportation and the doctor's office while learning about Canopy NWA, the resettled community in Northwest Arkansas and the process of resettlement in the United States.
All attendees will receive one service hour through GivePulse, and the first 150 to complete the program will also receive a catered lunch! This event is open only to current University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students. Students will not be required to purchase or reserve tickets.
This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee. This event is held in a venue that meets ADA standards. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend this event.
