Women in Finance Meeting April 18 Features 'The Girl Banker'
The Women in Finance Organization invites students to attend the monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 18, at 6 p.m. in Willard J Walker Hall room 0126 with speaker Natalie Bartholomew. The topics of this meeting will include how The Girl Banker Platform started, tips on personal branding and how to advocate for yourself.
Bartholomew is a career banker who proudly serves as community president for First Community Bank in Northwest Arkansas. She was recognized as the 2015 Young Woman of the Year by the Greater Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce for the NWA Business Women's Conference, a member of the 2015 Northwest Arkansas Business Journal's Forty Under 40 and the 2018 Northwest Arkansas Business Journal Women In Business class, a member of the 2019 Arkansas Business Forty Under 40 class, the 2020 ICBA Forty Under 40 class, the 2021 and 2022 Arkansas Money and Politics Power Women in Banking lists and the AY Magazine Intriguing Women list.
In 2017, she launched the Girl Banker platform as a means to advocate for women in banking. The platform has grown from just a blog and social media presence to the Girl Banker Podcast to speaking engagements all over the country. This organization intends to connect student women in finance to established professionals in their field through career planning sessions, professional panels and networking events,;however, it is not limited to women. This meeting is open to any U of A student ,as our meetings are both informational and beneficial for anyone interested.
This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee.
