Hunt for Eggs in Mullins Library Next Wednesday
Students can be on the lookout for hidden eggs on Level 4 of Mullins Library Wednesday, April 5. The eggs will contain surprise items including slap bracelets, stamps and keychains.
Ilo Sanders, a custodial worker assigned to Mullins Library, approached User Services personnel earlier this semester with the idea to host an egg hunt. A building to which she had previously been assigned had hosted a successful egg hunt that students enjoyed, and she asked if she and her coworkers could hide eggs on Level 4 of Mullins early Wednesday morning, before the building opens to campus.
"I talk to students every day," Sanders said. "When I brought it up, they said, 'Oh, we'd really enjoy that!'"
She said she wanted to do something students would enjoy, especially around final exams.
"It might relieve them a little bit, take the pressure off and give them something fun to do," she said.
Four hundred eggs will be placed throughout the main section of Level 4 of Mullins Library. No eggs will be hidden in bookshelves or offices. The libraries ask that students please be courteous and only take one egg so that as many people as possible get the chance to find one.
