Catherine Beasley has been named the director of Northwest Arkansas Industry and Community Engagement in the Division of Economic Development.

In this role she will work directly with companies and organizations in the region to understand their needs and educate them about the many ways to connect and engage with the U of A, while continuously managing and monitoring their progress.

"I am delighted to have Catherine join my team," said Cherie Rachel, senior director of industry and community engagement. "She has a wealth of knowledge and experience that is highly relevant to this position and the division overall."

Beasley joins the Division of Economic Development from the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, where she served as director of employer relations. Previously she worked at the Sam M. Walton College of Business as associate director for student success and, prior to that, as manager for corporate programs in Walton Career Services. Her experience also includes private sector work managing digital and print projects in support of Sam's Club and as marketing manager for Lindsey Management Company.

"I am thrilled to join the Industry and Community Engagement team," Beasley said. "It is such an exciting time in Northwest Arkansas, and I am eager to partner on behalf of the University of Arkansas with all of the organizations doing amazing work in the region."
