The National Association for Campus Activities has named the U of A's Collage for the Climate as the 2023 Best Sustainable program.

The event was a creative response to climate change. Through conversation and collage crafting, participants created works that reflect different experiences, concerns or hopes. Attendees had the option to have their collages published in Zero Hour Arkansas' ROOTS magazine.

"It is truly an honor to win this award. The daytime chair, Reid Pinkard, and I worked hard to educate our students on sustainability through sustainable art," said Amelia Southern Uribe, vice president of University Programs. "This is an event we know educated students through entertainment."

The U of A was in the category of schools with more than 5,000 undergraduate full-time students and competed in the final five against SUNY Oneonta, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Iowa State University and Arizona State University.

The National Association for Campus Activities was established in 1960 and provides a variety of events, educational institutes, publications and networking opportunities for colleges and universities across the country. They focus on campus programming, multicultural education, student and professional leadership development, student government and more.
