During the previous weekend, Feb 24-26, the U of A Undergraduate Mock Trial program took two teams to compete in Springfield, Missouri, for the regional hosted by Missouri State University. Both Team Triceratops and Team Stegosaurus competed in a tough field from the regional area.

Team Triceratops finished with a 4.5 - 3.5 record, and Team Stegosaurus ended with a 3 - 5 record. Team Triceratops was captained by Abby Walton and Cameron Willis and coached by Adam Rose. Team Stegosaurus was captained by Mariam Abboud and Mary Owen and coached by Kristin Pawlik.

One member from each team received two individual awards, meaning that they received an award for competing on both sides of the case. Mariam Abboud from Team Stegosaurus received two attorney awards, with 18 ranks on the defense and 17 ranks on the plaintiff. Cameron Willis from Team Triceratops received a witness award with 16 ranks on the defense and an attorney award with 16 ranks on the plaintiff. Congratulations to Abboud and Willis for their hard work!

This upcoming weekend, the U of A moves on to the Open Round Championships in Arlington, Texas, sending both Team T-Rex and Team Velociraptors to the tournament. If either of the teams finish in the top six out of the field, they get the opportunity to compete in the National Championships in Memphis, Tennessee. Wish our team luck as they prepare for the upcoming tournament!
