The Department of Psychological Science is proud to announce the return of one of our alumni!

Arthur "Trey" Andrews, an associate professor of psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will share his expertise on "Expanding Trauma Treatment for Latine Populations: Examples of Brief Interventions, Interprofessional Settings, and Technology" in an in-person presentation hosted by the Department of Psychological Science at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in Memorial Hall room 324.

Andrews will discuss research he has conducted on a form of trauma treatment called Written Exposure Therapy that his team uses to treat posttraumatic stress disorder in Latine immigrants. His talk will highlight how Written Exposure Therapy was translated and adapted to be delivered in a culturally-responsive manner, and highlight how it is being adapted again for delivery through mental health apps.

Andrews received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the U of A after completing an internship at the Charleston Consortium Psychology Internship Training Program. He was an NIMH-funded postdoctoral fellow at the National Crime Victims Center at the Medical University of South Carolina before joining the faculty at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also serves as co-director for the Mental Health Disparities Initiative at UNL. His program of research focuses on pursuing health equity for Latines, particularly immigrant and Spanish-speaking populations.
