The U of A strives to be a place where we all care for the safety, health and well-being of others. One small act every member of the campus community can take to help create such an environment is leaving accessible parking spots open for those who depend on them.

When accessible parking spots are unavailable - even for a few minutes - some members of our campus community may have much more difficulty arriving at their residence hall, classroom or other activities.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Act, accessible parking spots also have specific features that make it easier to access buildings on campus. As a result, the access aisles between parking spaces should always remain open to accommodate people with wheelchairs or other mobility devices.

Fines for unauthorized parking in these areas are $250. UAPD will be doing targeted enforcement of these areas during weekends and after hours over the next 90 days.

If you have any questions or would like to report a concern, please contact the transit and parking office.
