Hospitality Management Program Hosts First Hospitality Career Fair, All Majors Invited

The Hospitality Management program in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Science's School of Human Environmental Sciences is hosting its first Hospitality Career Fair from 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the Verizon Ballroom of the Arkansas Union.

The career fair will feature local and national employers seeking candidates for current job vacancies and internships. The "Hospitality Highway" was planned by a select group of hospitality students who saw the need for a specified career fair and banded together under the guidance of associate professor and assistant director of HESC Kelly Way to design and execute the fair.

"Employers look to us to connect them to qualified students who have the talent desired by the industry today," Way said. "This job fair will prove to be just that. The companies have positions to fill. This is not just a meet and greet; this is a recruitment event."

Students who attend will get to speak with prospective employers and gather employment information directly from representatives in hotels, restaurants, catering, floral design, events and other industry sectors. Students should arrive in business professional dress with copies of their current resume, their student ID and be registered on Handshake.

Some of the more than 40 companies attending include: Omni Hotels, Silver Dollar City, IHG Hotels, Tyson Inc., Enterprise Rental Cars, Choctaw Nation Casinos of Oklahoma, Format Festival, Atrium Hospitality, Raymond Management Company, The Graduate Hotel, Cherokee Nation Casinos, Big Cedar Lodge, Yellow Rocket Concepts, Ben E. Keith Foods, Top Golf, The Wal Mart AMP and many others.

From 2-3 p.m., the fair is reserved for hospitality management students only. All majors in HESC, Bumpers College and across campus are welcome to attend from 3-5 p.m. All students, regardless of year and major, are encouraged to attend.
