Celebrate The CORD's first year at its CORDiversary.

To celebrate the first anniversary of the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence's grand opening, CORD staff members are hosting the CORDiversary celebration on Jan. 27. Students are invited to stop by The CORD throughout the day to take part in fun events, giveaways and food.

Onsite and remote events are planned for CORDiversary. Events in The CORD include:

  • Scholarship Essay and Resume Popup from 10 a.m. to noon

  • LinkedIn Profile Popup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Cornhole with Coaches from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Trail Mix with Tutors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students who wish to participate remotely also have ways to join in the CORDiversary fun. Remote events include:

  • Joining a food drive for the mini food pantry located in the building, earning shoutouts on @uarksuccess for their donations. View needs on Amazon.

  • Sharing their experiences and photos at The CORD on Instagram and tagging @uarksuccess from Jan. 23-27.

Since opening its doors in January 2022, The CORD has become a beloved space on campus for its wide range of amenities and services. Whether students are looking to get an energy boost with an afternoon coffee, gain clarity on their degree plans by meeting with an academic adviser, boost their academic success with tutoring or find a cozy study space, The CORD has become campus's one-stop shop for student academic life.

"We are thrilled to be celebrating one year of student success at The CORD," said Trevor Francis, director of student success at The CORD. "We hope you'll join us to celebrate on the 27th. We would love to hear your personal stories of success and help you explore additional ways to make the most of your time here at the U of A. Thank you all for being a part of our historic first year!"
