Remote and Flexible Work Pilot Extended to Spring; Campuswide Survey to Aid Permanent Decision

The U of A flexible and remote work pilot will continue into the spring semester. Flexible work schedules determined for the fall pilot should continue for the remainder of the 2022-23 academic year, at the manager's discretion, instead of ending Dec. 22.

New employees or employees who did not participate in the fall pilot but would like to participate in the spring should discuss flexible scheduling options with their manager.

"We've received a lot of positive feedback while piloting hybrid work, compressed schedules and flexible schedules over the summer and fall," said Margaret Sova McCabe, senior adviser for strategic projects. "As we strive to become an employer of choice, we will continue to place a high priority on supporting the individual needs of our faculty and staff members in a way that also strengthens our service to students, the state of Arkansas and, ultimately, to building a better world."

A campuswide survey will soon be administered to gather feedback that will contribute to permanent policy recommendations. Employees will receive the survey link through a Workday notification.

Additional guidance and any policy changes will be shared during the spring semester.
