Art as Advocacy Workshop Nov. 28

Join Zero Hour Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in the Multicultural Center for an Art as Advocacy workshop. Through conversation, poetry and collage crafting, participants will create pieces that reflect different experiences, concerns or hopes. The event will feature local artists and poets such as Reeya Gandhi. Attendees will have the option to have their art published in Zero Hour Arkansas' Roots magazine.

"Poems of Protest and Empowerment" is a community-driven environmental justice event. This intimate event combines art with activism to hold space and create accessible, joyful and educational experiences for people with intersectional identities to find community and learn about creative justice.

About Reeya Gandhi: Reeya Gandhi is a senior at the U of A majoring in social work. In her free time, she loves hiking with her dog, Mika, and baking. She hopes to one day be a licensed clinical social worker and specialize in sex therapy. Her work can be seen published in Hill Magazine, The Diamond Line and The Road Runner

About Zero Hour Arkansas: Zero Hour Arkansas is a climate justice community and resource hub amplifying BIPOC+ other historically excluded voices from the environmental movement. We merge science, cultural wisdom and creativity through curriculum and interactive learning experiences to connect individuals with their local communities to root their environmental practice in equity and inclusion.
