Deadline for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Waiver is Oct. 31

The deadline for U of A employees to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) waiver is Monday, Oct. 31.

"We are grateful that many of our faculty and staff members have already eliminated student debt through this year's PSLF program," said Debbie McLoud, associate vice chancellor of human resources. "We're hopeful that even more of our campus community will have a chance to experience this relief by applying before the deadline."

Nationwide, more than $10 billion in debt has been forgiven for over 175,000 total borrowers, as of late August.

The PSLF form can be submitted using the U.S. Department of Education's help tool. Additionally, PSLF.us is hosting an overview session of the program for leaders in higher education and healthcare at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17.
