New U of A TV Spot Reminds Students They're Right Where They Belong
The U of A debuted a new national commercial this fall, showcasing the U of A as a place where all students belong and can succeed.
The 30-second spot features the song “Dream On” from alumnus and recording artist Ben Rector, who earned a degree from the Sam M. Walton College of Business in 2010.
The commercial highlights how the U of A is a place where dreams can become realities, thanks to the numerous opportunities available to students.
“We hope the message resonates, inspires and reinforces the idea that anything you imagine is possible here,” said Mark Rushing, associate vice chancellor for University Relations. “Most of us can identify with at least one shot in the video — whether it’s the child looking up at Old Main and dreaming of the future or the graduate celebrating the culmination of hard work. The experiences, lessons learned and relationships built at the University of Arkansas really do change lives for the better.”
Rector’s song, which encourages listeners to “dream on to infinity and far beyond” became the perfect background to accompany the visuals chosen for the spot.
Rector said, “I’m genuinely excited to be a part of the spot! As an alum (and also as a person who watches Razorback football every Saturday), getting to be a part of that this season is truly an honor and is special in a different way than any other uses of my music on TV have been.”
“It was exciting to see this commercial take shape – from our initial concept to the final creation,” said Jennifer Holland, University Relations’ senior director of marketing communications. “We knew we wanted to do something a little different this year, and our team in University Relations – along with Ben Rector’s team – made it happen. We hope it’s something our students, alumni and friends will be proud to see while they’re cheering on the Razorbacks this year.”
The university’s commercial airs during televised Razorback sporting events and can be viewed on YouTube as well.
