U of A students kicked off this year's Academic Integrity Week on Monday by signing the Academic Integrity Week banner in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge. By signing the banner, students committed to completing honest academic work and upholding academic integrity as a cherished value within the community.

Members of the Associated Student Government participated in the signing to show support for the effort. ASG's director of academic affairs, Hailey Hoog, shared, "Though not often talked about, academic integrity is such an integral part of the education we receive on this campus, and having programs like this reminds us of how important it is. As students, it is our responsibility to hold ourselves to the highest standard possible and to appreciate the value of the degrees we earn."

Throughout Academic Integrity Week, the Office of Academic Initiatives and Integrity will be visiting various colleges and departments to celebrate and discuss the importance of academic integrity. In addition, any U of A student can be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift card to Amazon or the University Bookstore by following the #UARKHONESTY on Instagram and commenting on why integrity matters to them by midnight Friday, Sept. 30.

"Faculty and students on this campus care about academic integrity and people doing honest work. This week is all about providing a platform for these community members to be heard and for us to remember just how important academic integrity is at the University of Arkansas," said Chris Bryson, executive director of the Office of Academic Initiatives and Integrity.

For questions related to the raffle or this week's events, please email the Office of Academic Initiatives and Integrity at honesty@uark.edu or call 575-5229.
