Need a laugh? University Programs will host comedian Opey Olagbaju at the Union Theater at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. This event is free and open to the public.

Opey Olagbaju is a Nigerian-American stand-up comedian and writer. His upcoming series, BAMMAS (EP'ed by Ramy Youssef) has been greenlit to pilot at Hulu. Olagbaju was a story editor on HBO's Betty, as well as a writer on Kenya Barris' Unrelated on Freeform, Hulu's I love You America with Sarah Silverman and Close Enough for HBO Max. Olagbaju is noted for his observational humor, which stems from his personal experiences as an immigrant from Nigeria who assimilated into American society.
