University of Arkansas Interim Chancellor Charles Robinson will be the first of four chancellor finalists to participate in a public forum on campus. His forum is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center and will also be live streamed and recorded for broad access to the campus community.

Each of the four candidates are scheduled to visit campus for two days of meetings with students, faculty, staff and university stakeholders. A public forum will also be part of that schedule. Everyone at the U of A is invited to attend the four public forums either in-person or virtually.

Named interim chancellor at the U of A in August 2021, Robinson has served in numerous roles during the past 23 years, beginning as an assistant professor of history in 1999 and including director of the African and African American Studies Program, vice provost for diversity, vice chancellor for student affairs, and as provost and executive vice chancellor for academic and student affairs.

During his time at the U of A, he has led several projects focused on student recruitment and success, including a college readiness program for underrepresented students, a major restructuring of the Division of Student Affairs and a $10 million scholarship effort for first-generation, low-income Arkansans. Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Houston, a master’s degree in history from Rice University, and a doctorate in history from the University of Houston.

Registration details for the virtual component of each finalist’s forum can be found below as well as on the chancellor search website. A university email address is required. The search site will be updated with details regarding how the campus community can access recordings of the forums as soon as the recordings are available.

Each forum will take place in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center on the U of A campus between 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on their scheduled days.
