Armed Forces Alumni Society to Host Memorial Day Dinner

The Armed Forces Alumni Society invites the U of A family to a Memorial Day Dinner at 5 p.m., Monday, May 30, at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House.

We are gathering to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. Join us for an evening of remembrance and observance.

After a short reception, the program will begin at 5:30 p.m. The society is honored to welcome keynote speaker Brig. Gen. Bernie Skoch (U.S. Air Force, retired). Skoch graduated from the university in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force. His 29-year Air Force career took him throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East on permanent and temporary duty until retiring at the rank of brigadier general. Learn more about Skoch here.

The program will also include remarks from Yvette Murphy-Erby, vice chancellor for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Brock Haegele B.A.'17, assistant director of external relations for the Arkansas Alumni Association, as well as board members of the Armed Forces Alumni Society. Herman's Ribhouse is catering dinner.
