The College of Education and Health Professions held its annual awards ceremony on April 25, recognizing more than 100 outstanding students and alumni.

Dean Brian Primack presented the 2022 college-wide Presidential Scholar Award and Henry G. Hotz and Stella Hotz Awards.

Presidential Scholar Award
Juliana Sweet, a childhood education major, was named this year's Presidential Scholar. She's a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and Educators Rising. After completing her master's year, Sweet plans to teach in her hometown of Saint Louis, Missouri.

The university recognizes one student in each college each year as a Presidential Scholar based on grade point average, other academic accomplishments and faculty recommendations. The award was established in recognition of the investiture of James E. Martin as president of the university in 1980.

Hotz Awards
Reagan Swindall, a junior from Rockwall, Texas, and Macie Koeppen, a sophomore from Frisco, Texas, won the Henry G. and Stella Hotz Awards. The awards are presented to the top student in the junior and sophomore classes based on grade point average and other academic accomplishments.

Swindall is a student in the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing and a member of the U of A women's soccer team. She plans to attend graduate school and become a nurse practitioner.

Koeppen is pursuing a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She's involved in UARK Senate and Student Ambassadors.
