Beth Juhl, web services librarian for University Libraries, was recently named the recipient of the Innovative Users Group's 2022 Beacon Award. The award was created "to honor exceptional service to the Innovative Users Community through presentations, collaboration, selfless dedication to libraries as a whole and sage advice to others."

"Beth's eye for detail, combined with her dedication to ensuring that all users have a good experience when using a library system, is invaluable," said Angie Ohler, associate dean for content and digital initiatives. "I'm delighted to see her hard work rewarded."

Founded in 1991, the Innovative Users Group is an international organization of hundreds of member libraries who use the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. integrated library software. University Libraries have been active members of IUG since first automating in 1992.

"Beth Juhl is an indispensable member of the University Libraries faculty," said Jason Battles, dean of libraries. "We are proud to see that her extensive knowledge, collegial approach and tireless work are being recognized with this award. Her current leadership on the libraries move to the new online catalog, OneSearch, has been invaluable."
