College of Engineering JEDI Hour to Feature Talk: 'Breaking the Bias'
The College of Engineering Office of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion's March JEDI Hour will feature Keisha Walters, who holds the Kevin W. and Marie L. Brown Department Head Chair in Chemical Engineering.
Addressing bias in the workplace allows individuals to examine and understand our own biases. In addition, this conversation will bring awareness to how unconscious biases manifest themselves and how those biases influence interactions with our work colleagues, staff and students.
Keisha Walters, head of the Ralph E. Martin Department of Chemical Engineering |
Walters, who joined the department in August, previously was the Conoco-Dupont Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. Before this, she was on the faculty at Mississippi State University. She completed her B.S. in biological sciences and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering at Clemson University.
The session will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 8. Registration is not necessary and all are welcome.
