Majlis Informal Discussion Group Every Other Wednesday Starting Today

All undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate in Majlis, a biweekly informal discussion group on Southwest Asia and North Africa, or SWANA. Discussion is open to anyone interested, regardless of the level of knowledge. Majlis is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. every other Wednesday starting today, March 2, at Old Main 202C.

Majlis, the Arabic word for gathering, is led and organized by Samer Mayyas, a doctoral student in the Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies Program. These meetings will offer a unique opportunity for interested people of all backgrounds and levels to discuss topics related to the region and beyond in an informal, outside-the-classroom setting. No specific knowledge is required to participate, and all are welcome.

The next meetings will be on March 16, March 30, April 13 and April 27. We hope to see you there!
