Freshmen and Seniors Take the National Survey of Student Engagement

The U of A always seeks to improve the student experience on campus, and because student feedback is crucial to making this happen, starting today students can participate in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).

The survey is designed to gather information from freshmen and seniors about their college experiences, both in and out of the classroom. The results of the survey will allow the university to evaluate and compare the experiences of U of A students with students throughout the country.

Starting on Thursday, Feb. 24, freshman and senior students will receive an email from the U of A NSSE Administration Team with information and a link to take the survey online.

Because the impact of the survey is so great, it is important that each student voice be heard. If enough students participate, the results can effect changes at the university that will improve the quality of education for Arkansas students in addition to helping the campus further demonstrate the value of an education at the U of A.

"Taking this survey is easy. The results will help us give students a better University of Arkansas experience, so let your voice be heard," said EmmaLe Davis, director of assessment for Student Affairs. "This is a rewarding opportunity for you as students to make a difference in the future of your university. Just look for the email from NSSE Administration Team and follow the link."

In appreciation for participating, the first 500 students who complete the survey will receive a free t-shirt. Everyone who completes the survey by May 1 will be automatically entered into a random drawing to win one of ten $100 Amazon gift cards or one of two $500 Amazon gift cards.

If you have any questions about this project at the U of A or how the university plans to use the results, please contact Alice Griffin, director of Curriculum Review and Program Assessment, at oir1@uark.edu or 479-575-5252. More information about the survey is available at the NSSE Web site.
