It's Razorback Gymnastics Meet Day Tonight
The No. 14 Arkansas gymnastics program will host Women's Empowerment Night at Barnhill Arena once again tonight, Feb. 11, as the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats come to town for an SEC dual meet.
Women's Empowerment Night is a tradition started by head coach Jordyn Wieber in 2020, the first season of her tenure at Arkansas. It was the first meet of its kind in NCAA Gymnastics and has since inspired similar events at other schools as well as for more women's programs at the U of A. The evening seeks to recognize women who have paved the way and made an impact in our society and local community. This year's edition of Women's Empowerment Night also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Title IX, which was enacted in 1972.
2022 is the 20th year of competition for the Arkansas program, and it's fitting that in addition to Women's Empowerment Night, Friday will also serve as Alumni Night for the Gymbacks to celebrate all Razorback Gymnastics Alumni who have made the program into what it is today.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with team introductions at 6:45 and first vault at 7. U of A students get in free with U of A ID! Enter at the doors of Barnhill Arena located off Stadium Drive.
