UREC to Offer a Variety of Fitness and Wellness Opportunities this Spring
University Recreation is offering a variety of safe and effective fitness programming to meet the needs of the U of A campus. Group Fitness classes began Tuesday and will run through May 5. Classes range from yoga to cardio/strength and cycle formats and are free to all students and members. Classes are offered in both the HPER and the UREC Fitness Center (Arkansas Union) throughout the day.
"I've been going to the kickboxing and cycle classes and they're amazing! I had the same instructor for both, and she made even the tough parts of the workout fun. UREC Group fitness classes are safe, fun and they encourage community. I'm excited for this semester," said Mykayla Bowser, group fitness participant.
For a more individualized service, join the UREC certified personal training staff for one-on-one sessions catered toward the client's individualized goals. Personal trainers can work with their clients in any UREC space based on their client's needs. Personal Training packages start at $56 for students (two sessions) and $64 for members. Additional information can be found at urec.uark.edu under the Fitness tab.
Small Group Training offers a unique opportunity to blend the camaraderie of group fitness with the individualized attention of a certified personal trainer. Small Group Training runs from Monday, Jan. 31, to Thursday, March 10, for Session 1, and from Monday, March 28, to Thursday, May 5, for Session 2. Small Group Training is offered exclusively in the UREC Train Studio, UREC's designated training space located on the first floor of the HPER. A single six-week session of Small Group Training is $43 for students and $57 for members.
Register for all three services at the UREC member portal found at urecmembers.uark.edu under the Memberships tab.
In accordance with the updated COVID-19 campus policy, face masks must be worn by participants at all times. The only exceptions are swimming in the pool, showering and while actively eating and drinking.
