Call for Proposals: DRI Industry Seed Funding Program

The Division of Research and Innovation Office of Research Advancement is responsible for facilitating industry research partnerships with a focus on strengthening the university's land-grant mission and building Arkansas' knowledge-based economy through university research that leads to commercialization. As part of DRI's strategic plan to strengthen the University research culture, the Division of Research and Innovation Industry Seed Funding (DRIISF) Program has been instituted.

The overarching goal of the seed-funding program is to encourage U of A researchers to develop new research collaborations with industry partners and to assist researchers in developing proof of concept research outcomes that have strong potential for securing future external funding, either as industry-sponsored research or as joint funding from federal agencies with industry collaborators. Proposals must develop research initiatives with high potential for extramural funding. Interdisciplinary research across multiple departments is encouraged.

The solicitation will opened Monday, Dec. 20, and runs through Feb. 28, 2022, for projects beginning in spring/summer 2022. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Awards are expected to range between $2,500 and $15,000 for a period of performance of up to one year. All university faculty and staff are eligible to apply.
