Online Privilege Program Study: Earn a Certificate and Chance to Win a Visa Gift Card

A graduate student in the School of Social Work is looking for U of A students to participate in an online program exploring privilege. Its intention is to teach and initiate conversations about privilege, oppression, discrimination and racism among students with varying perspectives. The overall goal of this program is to stimulate change towards greater equality and inclusivity on the U of A campus.

This program consists of four Blackboard modules with videos, activities and reflection questions over privilege and related topics. The four modules combined will take approximately four hours to complete. However, participants will have over one month to finish them. The impact of this program on students will be researched through optional pretests, posttests and post-interviews.

Once participants complete the program, they will earn a Certificate of Completion. This certificate will be presented by the School of Social Work and can be added to resumes, job applications and more. If a participant chooses to complete the pretest and posttest, their name will be entered into a drawing with four $25 Visa gift cards.

If you or anyone you know is interested in participating in this study or has any questions regarding it, please fill out this interest survey.
