Red Flags or Green Flags: Relationship Violence Edition

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, one in four women and one in nine men have experienced intimate partner violence. The prevalence indicates that everyone likely knows someone who has experienced intimate partner violence.

Join RESPECT — the award-winning peer education program of the Campus Sexual and Relationship Violence Center — for an exploration of the spectrum of intimate partner violence and indicators of healthy and unhealthy relationship behaviors.

Although physical abuse is often the most identified type of relationship abuse, the group will discuss many types of abuse, such as physical, emotional, financial, sexual, reproductive and digital abuse.

All students are invited and highly encouraged to attend.

Additionally, the group will talk about the personal harms of abuse and indicators of abusive behaviors. Knowing the warning signs, or red flags, in a relationship can help one identify abusive or unhealthy relationship behaviors. Learning green flags empowers us to know what we want intimacy to look like in our relationships.
