MCAT Coaching and Tutoring Program Now Accepting Participants

Thinking about medical school but not sure how to keep your preparations on track? The Liebolt Premedical Program has partnered with the Student Success Center and the Honors College to provide a pilot MCAT coaching and tutoring program to support students in their goal to gain admission to medical school. The program will begin in January 2022 and will include one to two full-length practice MCAT exams, weekly check-ins and tutoring as needed. The program is free of charge.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with upperclassmen who have achieved success on the MCAT and will receive an in-depth and personalized opportunity to prepare for the practice exam. Students will then be referred to tutoring opportunities and experiences as needed to further prepare for their medical career. By taking this course, students will develop strategies that ultimately provide more time to productively learn and improve their work.

All students planning to take the MCAT in 2022 may apply, but participation is limited. Please use this form to indicate your interest in participating in the program.

"Preparing for the MCAT is a necessary but mostly awful part of premed life. There are almost too many ways to study and much conflicting advice floating around, such that many students experience confusion, anxiety and doubt," said Mack Ivey, Liebolt Chair of Premedical Sciences and associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. "The MCAT coaching and tutoring program aims to alleviate stress by providing information and resources to help participants with study plans, content review, test-taking strategy and other, often intangible components of MCAT preparation."
