Full Circle Food Pantry Offering Free Vegan Cooking Class

Join the Jane B. Gearhart Cooking Matters team at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 17, for a vegan cooking class where we will fix Vegan Lentil Bolognese! The class will be virtual and will host up to 15 participants. Sign up here.

Cooking Matters is a national program that works on teaching nutrition, cooking skills and budgeting while still accessing and using nutritious foods. All classes are currently virtual this semester and run periodically, typically in the evenings. All ingredients and recipes are provided to participants. Requirements for the class are a kitchen with basic cooking equipment, and a good enough internet connection to log in to Zoom to join in and cook along! We do our best to modify recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.

The Full Circle Food Pantry is a resource on the U of A campus that provides a three-day supply of groceries and personal care items to anyone with a U of A or UAMS ID. The pantry strives to serve clients with balanced meals through non-perishables and fresh produce and is dedicated to nourishing bodies, empowering minds and creating a community of compassion.

If you have any questions about this class, please reach out to the Cooking Matters intern, Aryn Blumenberg, at cmintern@uark.edu.
