Participants Wanted for Paid Study on Slur Usage Among LGBTQ-Plus Students

Hannah Baker, who is currently completing her honors thesis with the School of Social Work, is conducting a qualitative research study about slurs used in and against the LBGTQ+ community.

If you identify as LGBTQ+ and are a student at the U of A, you are eligible to participate. Baker will be completing approximately 30-minute interviews via Zoom or in person, whatever is most convenient for you. Baker is also providing an incentive of $25 for your time. This gift card incentive is a way to honor the time you gave to help with this study.

A few months after that initial interview, Baker will be completing a focus group to review the emerging results of the study. You do not have to participate in this focus group if you do not want to and you would prefer to just participate in the initial interview. If you choose to participate in the focus group, you will earn an additional $15 gift card!

If you are interested in learning more about the study and/or participation, email Hannah L Baker at hlb009@uark.edu. Baker will then forward you the informed consent and set up a time for the interview.
