SRVC Offers Weekly Survivors Chat Group for Spring Semester

The Campus Sexual & Relationship Violence Center (SRVC) offers a weekly chat group for University of Arkansas student survivors of sexual and/or relationship violence.

The confidential Survivors Chat Group will start-up again for the remainder of the Spring semester beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 18, via Zoom.

A brief, virtual screening appointment is required prior to joining the peer-based and facilitated group. Once completed, members will receive group meeting information. Interested survivors should email survivor@uark.edu.

"We are pleased to have been able to continue to provide advocacy and support services throughout this pandemic for our campus community. During times of isolation, connections such as the Survivors Chat group become all the more important for individuals, said Dr. Mary Wyandt-Hiebert, SRVC director for Pat Walker Health Center. "Being able to share one's experiences and challenges and offer peer support among other survivors in a caring environment helps along the healing journey after sexual and relationship violence."
