STEM Students: Don't Miss Ready.Set.STEM and Walmart Resume Reviews Tomorrow

The University of Arkansas College of Engineering Career Services and the University Career Development Center in collaboration with Walmart, will host Ready.Set.STEM virtually from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in Airmeet. Representatives from Walmart will participate in a panel discussion as to how their science, technology, engineering, or math degree has assisted them in the work they currently do. 

Panelists include Brandy Umdenstock, Ashley White and Kierra Smith.

Umdenstock has been with Walmart for 20 years and currently serves as senior manager II, Software Engineering, at Sam's Club Home Office. Previously she has held roles in store customer technology, ISD ePay Financial Services, Store Specialty Divisions, ISD Materials Management, ISD Workstations Solutions, and ISD Open Systems Engineering. Brandy is an alumnus of the University of Arkansas where she earned her B.S. in Computer Engineering.

White has been with Walmart since 2009 and has served as senior manager II, Security Infrastructure and Development, for the past four years. Prior to this role he has worked in identity management, security operations, and as a systems engineer. White received his B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arkansas.

Smith joined Walmart in 2012 after graduating from University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff with a B.S. in Computer Science. He has held roles as a programmer, senior system programmer, and currently serves as programmer analyst. He has been in his current role since 2014. 

Students will have the opportunity to ask the panelists a variety of questions and network with company representatives. The panel discussion will take place from 5-6 p.m. followed by the networking reception from 6-6:30 p.m., also in Airmeet.
