Blackboard Will Be Unavailable Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
Blackboard Learn

IT Services will upgrade Blackboard Learn from Dec. 23, 2020, to Jan. 1, 2021. Blackboard Learn will be unavailable to instructors and students during this week while data are migrated. After the migration, the process to create courses and add content will not change, but users will experience a new interface and navigation called Blackboard Learn with Ultra Base Navigation.

Blackboard Learn with Ultra Base Navigation will provide greater accessibility for students and a more efficient experience for faculty. After the migration, future upgrades will be performed automatically and will not require downtime.

"This migration allows us to experience the most recent version of Blackboard Learn and all the features that come with it without service interruptions or significant downtime," Kathryn Zawisza, director of academic technology and innovation, said. "It also allows us to use a more modern and intuitive version of Blackboard."
