University Housing Announces Fall 2020 Recipients of the Housing Family Scholarship

University Housing has awarded the Fall 2020 Housing Family Scholarship to four students who have a family member affiliated with University Housing.

The Housing Family Scholarship is a book scholarship awarded to a dependent child, grandchild, niece, or nephew of a Housing staff member.

This scholarship fund became endowed in Spring 2019 and was awarded for the first time in Fall 2019.

The Fall 2020 Housing Family Scholarship recipients are:

  • Elleanor Adams, a first-year student from Farmington majoring in marketing

  • Lexie Madewell, a sophomore from Prairie Grove majoring in finance

  • Ryan Ozanich, a senior from Mena majoring in biology and exercise science

  • Courtney Soulsby, a senior from Fayetteville majoring in public health

University Housing employs approximately 175 full-time staff members who serve our on-campus students in the residence halls daily.

"Many of our staff members work at the University for the purpose of providing a tuition waiver for their children or dependents. In these uncertain times, this book scholarship is another way to help ease the financial costs of a college education," said Florence Johnson, assistant vice chancellor for University Housing.

University Housing continues to be appreciative of the generosity of the supporters of this scholarship whose gifts and donations allow us to grant this scholarship award.

This scholarship is awarded each year at the beginning of the fall semester.
