University Recreation to Offer Small Group and Personal Training

University Recreation is offering both Small Group Training and Personal Training during the fall 2020 semester.

Small group training will be offered Monday, Sept. 14, through Thursday, Oct. 29. Classes meet twice a week and are led by a certified personal trainer. Class size will be limited to three participants to allow for 12-foot social distancing while exercising. This class provides a unique opportunity to build camaraderie with those who share similar goals. The cost to participate is $43 for students and $57 for UREC members.

University Recreation is also offering personal training this semester with the option to train in-person or virtually. Sessions held in-person will be held one on one, with a personal trainer in a private studio located in the HPER Building, while virtual sessions will be offered via FaceTime or Zoom. The cost for a personal trainer starter package (includes an assessment plus one session) is $56 for students and $64 for UREC members.

"When I first began my fitness journey at UREC, I did not know basic skillsets surrounding fitness and health," said Jordan Weil, senior graduate assistant in political science who has participated in both small group classes and personal training at UREC. "Through personal training sessions, I was able set realistic goals with the help of my trainer and saw incredible results that I could not have achieved by myself. I developed a confidence that I did not have before. Then, I decided to try small group training for additional workouts. Participating in small group training was a great decision as I was able to have accountability and meet other like-minded individuals."
