Bumpers College Recruitment Cards Recognized by Association for Communication Excellence
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences was recognized this summer by the Association for Communication Excellence for its production of recruiting cards on the college's 14 majors.
The cards received ACE's Silver Award in the Graphic Design 2/Advertisement category.
The cards provide specifics on what students will do while enrolled in each major while also providing information on potential career opportunities after graduation. The cards are targeted toward potential students, their family members, and high school counselors and teachers.
The cards were created by Bumpers College's communications team. ACE recognizes gold, silver and bronze awards in its national contests.
Comments included "These cards are a fun alternative to the generic one page paper handout that many colleges use. The front with the photo and name of the major draws the student in, while the back does a great job of giving more detail. The colors look great together and the text is easy to read. … I especially like that you included recommendations of what they can do when they graduate with the degree."
The cards are used by Coordinator of Undergraduate Recruitment Dausen Duncan during visits to schools and career fairs, during on-campus visits with prospective students and family members, and by each respective department.
ACE is an international association of communicators, educators and information technologists who focus on communicating research-based information.
