ASG Senate Recognizes Dr. Carlos Acosta for Service to Students

The Associated Student Government Senate voted on April 14 to recognize Dr. Carlos Acosta from the Pat Walker Health Center and his work in providing service to students across campus. The legislation, written by Sens. Angel Meneses, Esteban Lopez, Nate Martinez, and Kate Sego, honors Acosta for his commitment to serving and providing high quality healthcare service to all domestic and international students.

Proclamation Recognizing Dr. Carlos Acosta 

Whereas it is the honor of the Associated Student Government Senate to recognize and commend the efforts of those who contribute to better the University of Arkansas, the Associated Student Government Senate would like to recognize Dr. Carlos Acosta for his service to the University of Arkansas. Dr. Acosta has been a practicing physician for the last 10 years and has worked at the Pat Walker Health Center for the last 7 years. He is originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, and came to the United States to attend university. He obtained his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2007. He then specialized in family medicine in South Carolina in 2010 and moved to Northwest Arkansas that same year. Dr. Acosta has been part of the University of Arkansas family since 2013. His commitment to high quality health care service is undeniable. He has been described by his patients as a physician that articulates conditions and situations very well. His impact on the University of Arkansas campus has extended to domestic and international students alike. Dr. Acosta's fluency in Spanish has enabled him to help students from Latino backgrounds feel even more comfortable and understood when they require healthcare.
