Henry Woods Leadership Award Deadline Extended: Graduating Seniors Apply Now

The 2020 Henry Woods Student Leadership Award application deadline has been extended to April 30. Graduating seniors should apply today!

The Henry Woods Leadership Award recognizes one female and one male graduating senior at the university who has an outstanding record of student leadership. This award, established in honor of Henry Woods, a 1973 University of Arkansas graduate, provides a $750 award for each recipient for the spring semester.

"In these unprecedented times we wanted to give students more time to apply for this award," said Sue Harris, director of development for Student Affairs.

Graduating seniors (undergraduates) must complete the online application, which may be accessed at the Student Affairs scholarship web site.

Henry Woods was a Malvern and Hot Springs native who graduated with a degree in political science and was highly involved in many aspects of student life while on campus, including being editor of The Razorback yearbook. Following graduation in 1973 from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, Woods worked in Washington, D.C., on the staffs of Rep. Bill Alexander, and Sens. David Pryor, Dale Bumpers, and Blanche Lincoln. Woods worked to improve the quality of life for Arkansans during his 25 years of civic service at our nation's capital.

Friends and associates of Henry Woods established the award to honor his lasting impact at the University of Arkansas and the state of Arkansas.
