U of A-Sanctioned Study Abroad Travel Canceled Through June 15

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – All university-sanctioned and coordinated study abroad programs departing between May 1 and June 15 have been canceled. The university will re-evaluate the global situation later this spring before making decisions regarding university-sanctioned study abroad programs departing after June 15.

"We share in the disappointment that our students and faculty will feel from this disruption to their international travel," said Sarah Malloy, director of Study Abroad and International Exchange. "The decision, while heartbreaking, reflects our immediate priority to ensure the safety of our university community, including study abroad students and faculty leaders."

The cancelation impacts all summer study abroad students on faculty-led programs, the Rome Center, third-party programs and summer exchange programs as well as credit-bearing opportunities such as internships, service-learning, research and independent study.
