ADH Vaccine Clinic Today in Union Ballroom

The Arkansas Department of Health is holding a vaccine clinic for anyone still needing to receive the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom.

ADH will provide the vaccine at no cost; if you have insurance, please bring your insurance information with you.

Although campus is no longer in an outbreak setting — and proof of vaccination is no longer required — it is still highly recommended to take preventive measures to help keep campus healthy. The MMR vaccine is the best way to prevent contracting measles, mumps, or rubella, and ADH encourages everyone needing to finish the vaccine series to do so.

Submit MMR Vaccine Records

Although U of A employees are no longer required to provide documentation to ADH, it is still recommended that you submit records to ADH online. In the event of another outbreak, similar vaccine requirements may be required, so it is best to be protected and prepared.

Use Effective Respiratory Hygiene Prevention

As with any public health concern — regardless of risk for the campus community — preparedness and prevention is important to keep illnesses from spreading.

As the University moves on from mumps, campus is still faced with the threat of influenza. Flu activity is starting to increase, so everyone is strongly encouraged to practice effective respiratory hygiene methods.

  • Washing hands with warm water and soap; using alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Covering cough/sneeze.
  • Not sharing food, drinks, anything that can spread viruses, especially vaping devices.
  • Disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, especially phones, laptops and doorknobs.

Anyone who has not received a flu vaccine this season should consider getting the vaccine. Flu vaccines are still available at Pat Walker Health Center. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 479-575-4451 or online at myhealth.uark.edu
