Accepting Nominations for Outstanding Faculty Adviser and Professional Adviser

The Academic Advising Council is currently soliciting nominations for the University of Arkansas Academic Advising Awards. Four advising awards are bestowed annually, and winners are awarded professional development funds.

Outstanding Advising Awards:

  • Academic Advising Primary Role (at least 50% or more time spent advising and 3 or more years of experience)
  • Faculty Academic Advising (at least 50% or more time spent teaching or research and 3 or more years of experience)

Outstanding New Advisor Awards:

  • Academic Advising Primary Role (at least 50% or more time spent advising and 3 or less years of experience)
  • Faculty Academic Advising (at least 50% or more time spent teaching or research and 3 or less years of experience)

The selection committee will evaluate nominations on the evidence of qualities and practices that distinguish the nominee as an outstanding adviser. Campus winners will be submitted for national awards through NACADA, the Global Community of Academic Advising Association.

The Academic Advising Council serves as the advisory group for undergraduate academic advising and reports to the provost regarding all matters related to its charge. The council is responsible with assisting the institution to increase the academic success and retention of undergraduate students. The council is committed to developing campus advisors' knowledge, skills, and abilities in their advisory roles.
