Razorback Road to Reopen, Part of Maple Street Closing as Work Continues

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The next phase of the Highway 112 widening project on campus will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 7, when Razorback Road between Meadow Street and Maple Street reopens and another section of Maple Street is closed. The Maple Street work will affect pedestrians and drivers, closing the section of the street from the north side entrance of Lot 44, through the Stadium Drive and Maple Street intersection to the Garland Avenue and Maple Street intersection.

This work will require a brief, one day closing of the Maple-Garland intersection. This has yet to be scheduled, but the campus will be notified.

Permit holders and building tenants affected by the work have been notified.

Upcoming completion dates

Razorback Road, including the new traffic signal on Maple, is scheduled to open on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The new Leroy Pond Extension, with a new traffic signal, is scheduled to be complete Monday, Aug. 19.

Stadium Drive has been reopened to two lane traffic.

The lane currently closed on Garland Avenue in front of the Pat Walker Health Center is scheduled to reopen on Friday, Aug. 9, but the sidewalk will remain closed.

The work on Garland Avenue, south of Maple Street and east of the Faulkner Performing Arts Center will be complete Monday, Aug. 12, and Union Station will reopen. . 

The work on Upper Service Drive to resurface the road and add a new sidewalk will be complete in late August.  It will be opened temporarily for move-in.
