Two Additional Road Closings to Affect Traffic Beginning July 18
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -Drivers and pedestrians should expect additional delays and detours when traveling on Oakland Avenue and Lower Service Drive as safety and maintenance updates are made.
Lower Service Drive
Lower Service Drive, west of Gladson-Ripley Hall, will be closed beginning on Thursday, July 18 through Sunday, July 21. Access to lot 48, 48A, Lambda Chi and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity houses will still be available. A section of Lower Service Drive will be changed from one-way to two-way to accommodate the construction changes. However, using extra caution and taking alternate routes is advised.
This portion of work includes the removal and reinstallation of a storm sewer manhole.
Oakland Avenue
Oakland Avenue, between West Maple Street and West Douglas Street, will be closed beginning Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26. Drivers will detour using North Storer Avenue.
This closure is part of the remodel of Alpha Delta Pi and includes the installation of a new fire hydrant and fire line.
