Become a Part of the University Housing Adopt-A-Prof Program
Curt Rom, associate dean for international education, discusses academic topics with a group of student residents in Hotz Honors Hall.
University Housing seeks faculty members to participate in the Adopt-A-Prof program.
Participants will partner with residence hall staff to engage with students living in a residential community. As an honorary member of the residential community, faculty members will interact with residents and staff on an informal but intentional level, while being fully integrated into the programming aspects of the residence hall.
This type of interaction helps connect the academic pursuits of our students with their lives outside of the classroom. Whether through a floor movie night, sponsored study break, or attending a Razorback sporting event together, faculty members will gain the opportunity to serve as a mentor and share their own topical perspective and life experiences with residents.
Faculty members are asked to participate in two to three events per semester based on their availability. They will be invited to an end-of-the-year appreciation reception and will receive a certificate of recognition from University Housing for their collaboration and support.
If interested in serving an Adopt-A-Prof, please complete this form by Aug. 31.
You will be invited to an information session later in September to receive detailed information.
If you have immediate questions, please email associate director Stephanie G. Adams at sgadams@uark.edu.
