FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A special group of students has been chosen to serve as ambassadors of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences for 2019-20.

Following an application and interview process, 11 students have been selected to work both on-campus and off-campus recruiting events, to assist at Dean's Office events, serve as representatives of the college, assist in other recruiting functions, and share the philosophy and benefits of enrollment in the college to prospective students, parents and alumni.

"I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work with such an exceptional group of student leaders this upcoming year," said Coordinator of Undergraduate Student Recruitment Dausen Duncan, who supervises the ambassadors. "Each of the students selected to serve as a Bumpers College Ambassador will be bringing different strengths and backgrounds to the team which will align perfectly with the recruitment efforts of the college going forward."

The 2019-20 ambassadors are:

  • Kenley Bramall (lead ambassador), Winslow, a senior in agricultural business, and agricultural education, communication and technology with an agricultural communications concentration
  • Stephanie Bennett, Brinkley, a junior in poultry science
  • Ruth Ann Buckner, White Hall, a senior honors program representative majoring in food science
  • Bodie Cotter, Mountain Home, a senior majoring in crop science and agricultural business
  • Gage Dixon, Omaha, a junior majoring in animal science with a pre-professional school concentration
  • Katie Gardner, Fayetteville, a junior majoring in agricultural education, communication and technology with a concentration in agricultural communications, and agricultural business
  • Austin Jacobelli, Mountain Home, a senior majoring in agricultural business with a concentration in agricultural business marketing and management
  • Jesus Lopez, Anaheim, California, a junior diversity and inclusion representative majoring in apparel merchandising and product development, and finance
  • Anastasia Mills, Benton, a senior majoring in food science
  • Josh Tebow, Mount Vernon, Missouri, a junior majoring in horticulture, landscape and turf sciences
  • Olivia Thornton, Wichita, Kansas, a sophomore majoring in apparel merchandising and product development

"The quality of applicants made it extremely difficult to determine the 2019-20 team," said Duncan. "I was genuinely impressed by every student who applied, which is such a great testament of the kind of students Bumpers College not only attracts, but also produces."
