Kate Williams

Kate Williams was awarded the 2018 Arkansas Veterinarian of the Year while attending the Arkansas Veterinary Medical Association Winter Meeting in Hot Springs on Feb. 2, 2019. Williams is the attending veterinarian for the University of Arkansas. She works with the Office of Research Compliance and serves on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.   

Williams received a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science in 1991, and a Master's of Science in Animal Science/Parasitology in 1993, both from the University of Arkansas. She received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University in 1999.

Williams has practiced veterinary medicine in Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville and now Springdale where she is the owner and veterinarian of St. Francis Animal Hospital. A graduate of the U of A ROTC program, Williams served on active duty in the Army for several years prior to attending veterinary school, and was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an officer in 1991. She has served in the military on active duty and in the Army Reserves since then. Currently, she is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps.
